To enable Cortana to provide personalized experiences and relevant suggestions, Microsoft collects and uses various types of data, such as your device location, data from your calendar, the apps you use, data from your emails and text messages, who you call, your contacts and how often you interact with them on your device”

“Microsoft regularly collects basic information about your Windows device including usage data, app compatibility data, and network and connectivity information. This data is transmitted to Microsoft and stored with one or more unique identifiers that can help us recognize an individual user on an individual device and understand the device’s service issues and use patterns.”

“If you open a file, we may collect information about the file, the application used to open the file, and how long it takes any use [of] it for purposes such as improving performance, or [if you] enter text, we may collect typed characters, we may collect typed characters and use them for purposes such as improving autocomplete and spellcheck features.”

Dans cette expérience, les personnes souhaitant utiliser le réseau Wi-Fi devait d’abord accepter une politique d’utilisation contenant une clause indiquant qu’ils devaient «donner le premier né de la famille ou leur animal préféré» en échange de l’utilisation du réseau Wi-Fi et ils acceptait la politique d’utilisation.
